Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia 10 Night Tour

Overview

This comprehensive 10-night, 11-day expedition is the definitive journey through the South Caucasus, weaving together the distinct cultures, landscapes, and histories of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia. Your epic adventure begins in Azerbaijan, the “Land of Fire,” where the cosmopolitan capital of Baku dazzles with its seamless blend of a medieval, UNESCO-protected Old City and audacious modern architecture. You’ll travel back to the dawn of humanity at the Gobustan rock art sites, witness the strange allure of the mud volcanoes, and step into the world of Silk Road merchants at the exquisite Palace of the Sheki Khans. This leg of the tour provides a fascinating look into the region’s rich Zoroastrian and Islamic heritage against a backdrop of rapid modernization.

Next, you’ll cross into the verdant landscapes of Georgia, a country celebrated for its legendary hospitality, ancient winemaking traditions, and soaring mountains. From the romantic streets of Sighnaghi in the Kakheti wine region to the vibrant, eclectic capital of Tbilisi, you’ll be captivated by Georgia’s charm. The tour delves deep into history with visits to the Stalin Museum in Gori and the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe. A major highlight is the journey along the Georgian Military Highway, a breathtaking route leading to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, set majestically in the Greater Caucasus.

The final chapter of your journey unfolds in Armenia, the world’s first Christian nation. Here, you will explore a landscape dotted with ancient, stone-carved monasteries and churches. You’ll visit the spiritual center of Echmiadzin, see Khor Virap monastery in the shadow of the biblical Mount Ararat, and admire the stunning settings of Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery. The tour concludes in the lively capital of Yerevan, tying together an unforgettable adventure across three remarkable and diverse nations.
